According to the Building Permit Report just released by the Township, building permits for January to June of this year amounted to $8,546,455, com- pared to $10,708,105 for the same period in 1990. Although the figures saw in- creases in a number of areas such as single family additions, industrial additions, and insti- tutional & government build- ings, it was still well under the mark. The number of permits is- sued were also down from last year. For the year-to-date only 131 permits were issued, as compared to 165 for the same period a year earlier. One area which saw a tre- mendous rise was in the area of institutional & government buildings. This year three per- mits, valued at $817,000 have been issued. The value for the same period last year was $198,000. A regional water pumping station near the Greenbank well site accounted for $800,000 of the value.
