22 - PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, August 13, 1991 "Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" W.l. members prepare items for Blackstock Fair exhibit The August meeting of Nestleton Women's Institute was held at Nestleton Community Centre on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. with president Rika Wygerde in charge. Secretary Neta Fish read the minutes, and gave an excellent report of finances. A good turnover of the Environmentally Friendly Household Hints Books has resulted in more being ordered for sale. It was decided to send one as a Christmas gift to our sister Institute .in Consett, England. Items for the Blackstock Fair Exhibit, Aug. 24, were planned, and the display will be arranged by Rika, Winnifred and helpers. The programs for 1991 had been printed, and members received their copy, with the secretary to send copies to the District Presi- dent and District Sec'v- Treasurer. Pennies for Friend- ship were received & the roll call "A Family Tradition" was very interesting. As Rike left for another engagement, the balance of the meeting was conducted by Gwendolyn Malcolm. Convener of Family and con- sumer Affairs, Bertha McLaughlin responded to the Motto '"To-day is the to-morrow, you worried about yesterday', followed by a reading from "Country Woman" magazine, titl- ed "Thistles and Burrs".
