Congratulations to Mark and Bonnie DeCosta on the arrival of their first son Chad, a brother for Britney. Chad was born on August 17 at Centenary Hospital in Scar- borough. The executive had the day well organized and many thanks to those who donated prizes for the draws and games. They were greatly appreciated. Mites hold end of year party Se EE cS Se The Seagrave Mites ended their baseball season with a wonderful party at the Seagrave Park last Thursday evening. A parents vs the kids game was enjoyed very much. The teams sponsor, Coun- try Sytle Donuts, provided a fan- tastic buffet for all to enjoy. All parents wish to convey a sincere thanks to the coach Randy Currie and assistant coach Rick Leney. Also thanks to Country Style Donuts for providing drinks and a treat after each game all season. Congratulations to Clarke and Lillian (Fralick) Ross and Cecil and Ivan Fralick who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversaries on Sat., Aug. 24 at the Communi- ty Center Hall, Scugog Island. Many Seagrave residents, friends, neighbours and family enjoyed the afternoon together following a dinner. A reminder, the Seagrave Church resumes its regular Sun- day services this Sunday (Sept. 1), at 9:30 a.m. Future columns will have news on Sunday School, U.C.W. meetings, etc. The Port Perry Hospital Aux- iliary is attempting to collect one million pennies this year. Seagrave U.C.W. (with a big hand-from Jesse Knobbs) have handed in, so far, 750 pennies. Auxiliary member Gertrude Wannamaker has handed in 800 pennies, Auxiliary member Don- na Sweetman, with help from sister-in-law Isabell, donated 850 - pennies. The Seagrave store so far has given 711. The Hospital Auxiliary wishes to thank all in the community who have con- tributed into this jar. [ am finahzing all details of the Robinglade Estates Womens group agenda this week. Looks like a great year coming up thanks to some suggestions from some members and something different is we will be combining with Mariposa Ladies group for the January get-together. I've had women volunteer to host in their homes but still looking for one more, give me a call please - 985-3722. Happy anniversary wishes on Wednesday to Fred and Mildred Puckrin. This past Saturday we enjoyed our daughter Katherine and son Michael being junior bridesmaid and ringbearer for our nieces wedding in Oshawa. Registra- tion will be held at the Kinsmen Hall in Port Perry on September 9 from 7-9 p.m. The fee this year is $22 per child. If you have any uniforms for re-sale, please bring them with you. Please note that we are in desperate need for leaders this year. There is a possibility that there will be no Brownies or Guides this year if enough leaders are not found. For your information, it is not necessay to have been a Brownie for a child to join as a Guide. Brownies are ages 6-9 and Guides are 9-12. If you require any infor- mation or if you are able to volunteer as a leader, please call Linda Fabiano at 985-1145 after Sept. 1.
