Nursing Home to hold GST auction on Friday The Community Nursing Home's GST Auction on Fri- day won't be as taxing as it sounds. In fact, the residents and staff are hoping people will bid high prices for their version of the GST -- Goods, Services and Talent -- and they have lots of it lined up to help raise money for their spring Florida trip. More than 70 items have been contributed for the auc- tion so far, says Kim Mitchell, activity director at the nursing home. The auction will start at 8 p.m. in the nursing home's dining room under the gavel of auctioneer Don Co- chrane. Goods such as firewood, ski tickets, jewelry and green fees at five different golf courses will be on the auction block. The staff and residents at the nursing home have also collected several items from celebrities, including an auto- graphed photograph from Stompin' Tom Connors and two autographed photos of one of the characters from TV's The Young and The Restless.
