The employ- ees belong to the Canadian Postmaster and Assistants (CPAA) union and the rural route deliveries are contract positions. Local residents are worried the post office will close, espe- cially since Canada Post asked her to retire early, she says. "I'd like to see the post office stay," she says. "We all would." Although many small post offices in Ontario have already closed, she suggests Canada Post may be reconsidering its policy. Last week, "they asked if I wanted to come back.
