Our Bea- ver Colony's first meeting night, a Group Committee parents meeting was held. There was a fair turnout of parents. Even better, was the response we ot once we ex- plained our colony leader situ- ation. We had six parents volun- teer to be Colony leaders and join our existing one leader team who has expressed enough gratitude to these par- ents and our other parents who are involved with us now as leaders, for making a com- mitment to Scouts Canada or- ganization so we all can pro- vide scouting programs to our youth. We would like to give special thanks to our leaders involved who do not have chil- dren in the Boy Scout Organi- zation. Other parents helped 1st Scugog greatly by joining our group committee as a member of the phone committee, the apple day lunch committee, as a scarf sewer, a publicity per- son, and quartermaster.
