Our Bea- ver Colony's first meeting night, a Group Committee parents meeting was held. There was a fair turnout of parents. Even better, was the response we ot once we ex- plained our colony leader situ- ation. We had six parents volun- teer to be Colony leaders and join our existing one leader team who has expressed enough gratitude to these par- ents and our other parents who are involved with us now as leaders, for making a com- mitment to Scouts Canada or- ganization so we all can pro- vide scouting programs to our youth. We would like to give special thanks to our leaders involved who do not have chil- dren in the Boy Scout Organi- zation. Other parents helped 1st Scugog greatly by joining our group committee as a member of the phone committee, the apple day lunch committee, as a scarf sewer, a publicity per- son, and quartermaster. Our programs are successful and we are successful as a whole because of parents like Village Garden Centre Boutique 1820 Scugog St., Port Perry 985-1054 Located two doors east of Country Style Donuts OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK these-who volunteer to make a commitment of their time. 1st Scugog thanks you. We have been successful in - finding these new leaders for our cub pack. We are looking for two more leaders in order to keep the number of boys al- ready registered. We would like to express our sincere ap- preciation to Lloyd Gree- nough, pack service team, for all he has done and is doing for our new leaders. He is as- sisting them at a number of meetings so they can get their feet on the ground. And he has let our cub leaders know he is available anytime. Thank you Lloyd. Our Scout Leaders are look- ing forward to an exciting year, The nine Scouts regis- tered have already gone camp- ing.
