Men's Thursday Night Bowling, Sept. 26 Blackstock, Swampers and Woodys, winners Week three in broomball started off with Ken Lynde making his debut in net for Monsma. Although he played a steady game Woody's were able to get three goals by him which was three more than Monsma could get by Rick Lee's. Pat Cook from Dalton Snod- den got Woody's underway with Rob Mason from Gene Woo- drow makingit 2-0 by the end of the first period. Neil Woodrow on a nifty give and go with Lar- ry Moase rounded out the scor- ing. . In Game two Emmerson's scored a first period power-play goal by Mike Conlan from Hen- ry Elste and with stellar goal- tending from Larry Reurekas almost road it to victory. Brian Pomeroy from Dave Canning and Steve Durham tied the game with only 1:07 left. The overtime was all B&R with Ken Bryant and Brian Po- meroy from Dave Canning making the final outcome 3-1 for Swampers. The final game had lots of checking and some fine goal- tending by Blackstock's Rick McClean and Framers Glenn Archibald. Blackstock took a 1- 0 lead at 10:58 of the second on a goal by Kevin Grieve assisted by Pete Kneale. They made that lead stand up and added an empty netter with one second left as Steve Halkes from Ron Short gave Blackstock the insurance. This Sunday the new league in Cannington will start with four mens and four ladies teams. The teams are still short a few players. Anyone interest- ed in playing should contact Steve or Sharon Robinson at 985-9906.
