The first issue was published on Tuesday, June 25, 1991 with the paper being distributed free to households in Scugog Township. There have been many of changes in the equipment and methods of publishing news- papers over the past century, but the one thing that has re- mained constant is the on- going committment they have to the communities they repre- sent and serve. Port Perry community newspapers have played an important role in the history of the area, documententing each week the important events of today for future generations of area families to read and ob- serve and cherish.
