It received its charter on June 27, 1871, and held its first meeting on the second floor of the Marlow Block, on the corner of Perry Street and Queen Street, which is now the site of Guardian Drugs. The Charter was burned in a fire and a copy was given to the Lodge in 1887. In 1965, the Lodge moved to a location south of Port Perry on Simcoe Street, where it remains. Membership at the present is approximately 117 people. Today, the Lodge is a worldwide organization interested in serving others. The services it provides include loaning wheelchairs, hospital beds, crutches and other hospital equipment, all free of charge. It is also actively involved in an eye research project.
