Dawson A day of good fun ball began at 9 a.m. with Speedy M vs. Centennial Lanes on the north diamond. With strong of- fensive hitting Speedy M came away with a victory of 16 to 4. At the same time on the south diamond Standard Elec- tric was doing some strong hit- ting for themselves with a win of 16 to 6 over MKM Eggstra. The 10:30 a.m. game brought the two Seagrave teams togeth- er on the north diamond with a strong game played by both teams, but McTaggart Electric came out on top with a score of 9 to 8. On the south diamond the Lil Gators were giving it all they had to beat the Marsh Hill Jerseys 10 to 3. At the 12 noon game MKM Eggstra was defeated by Cen- tennial Lanes by the score of 15 to 7. Speedy Muffler also added another win by beating Stan- dard Electric 21to 7. At 1:30 p.m. Country Style Donuts beat the Marsh Hill Jerseys with a score of 16 to 6, while McTaggart Electric did a number on the Lil Gators with a score of 18 to 3. The 3 p.m. games were both well played and fought out to the last innings with Speedy Muffler eliminating MKM Egg- stra from the tournament with a score of 16 to 4. Standard Electric and Centennial Lanes put on a good show but Stan- dard came out on top by elimi- nating Centennial with a score of 9to 7. The 4:30 p.m. games were also played well with the Lil Gators being eliminated by Country Style Donuts by a score of 14 to 11. The other game which was fought out in 12 innings was McTaggart Electric and Marsh Hill Jer- seys. With strong playing from both teams McTaggart came out on top with a score of 15 to 12. In the consolation round we saw an excellent game between Standard Electric and Country Style Donuts. With heads up plays by both teams, Country Style came out the winner. In the championship Speady Muffler went head to head with McTaggart Electric. Good hit- ting and defence from both teams made it a close game, but Speedy Muffler came out as the champions by a score of 13 to 10. I would like to thank Carl Fitzgerald for supplying us again with such good umpires to make the game run so smoothly. I hope you guys en- joyed umping as much as we enjoyed having you, thanks again. I enjoyed the season, having a few problems which we hope will be ironed out for next year. The players and I wish to thank the seven coaches for do- nating their time and efforts to make this league run smooth- ly. Thanks to the sponsors and everyone else that has helped me through the year to make this league run as well as it does. I look forward to next spring for another year of youth lob- ball. Please register next year on time. Pearce Auction Novice | team shows promise A busy weekend started the season for the Port Perry Nov- ice I team. Our first league game was played in Stouffville on Sun- day. A tight checking game en- sued and the end result was not determined until the closing moments of the game with the final score 3-1 in Stouffville's favor. It was a determined effort by the Port Perry squad that shows much promise for the 91- 92 season.
