NO G.S8.T. Senior Citizens Club to host bazaar on Oct. 26 Senior Citizens Club 101 met at the Latcham Centre last Wednesday afternoon. President Gord Prentice opened the meeting & wel- comed a good turnout of mem- bers, also 3 new members. Mary Cannon read the last Months' Minutes which were approved as read. We really enjoyed being en- tertained by the Kindergarten and Grade 1 Choir from the Christian Reformed Church. They sang several songs for us Seniors group receives funds The Spruce Lawn Social Club will use a $3,360 New Horizons grant to purchase dishes, cut- lery and tables for potluck din- ners and a table model shuffle board. New Horizons is a federal government program which en- ables retired people to create projects of their own choosing. It offers grants to groups who undertake activities for the benefit of themselves and oth- ersin the community. The Spruce Lawn Social Club is located on Rosa Street in Port Perry. \ The Durham Board of Education willnominate two representatives to the Scugog Public Library Board for a three year term, effective December 1, 1991. Interested persons should submit an application to: Mary Wylie, Communications Manager, The Durham Board of Education, 555 Rossland Road West, Oshawa, Ontario, L1J 3H3. Applications must be received no later than Tuesday, November 5, 1991. & Thank you to their Teacher for bringing them to the meet- ing. Jean Elliott reported the Euchre Parties for last month & Min Martin has tickets for the Living Xmas Tree on Dec. 8th, the Bus leaves Port Perry at 1 p.m. Cost $19.00 which includes the Bus and Admis- sion. Minnie also has Bro- chures for Florida if anyone is interested. Get Well Wishes for our members who are not well, and hope they are soon feeling better. The Lucky Winners for the Draw were Bernice Loudfoot, Bill Moore, Doug Butt, Eileen Hearn & Herb Luke. Members are asked to bring their own dishes and cutlery to the next Pot Luck Dinner. We are do- ing this so we won't have to use Styrofoam Plates and Cups. The meeting closed with Prayer and a Pot Luck Supper was served at 5 P.M. and fol- lowed by a sing song. Christmas Craft Sale.
