Last Tuesday at our U.C.W. meeting Mrs. Crozier was present and we had a tiny birthday party in honour of her 93rd special day. Then Shirley Baster gave a talk about "Communication" which was interesting and in- formative. On Wed. evening, a group of Bethesda W.I. friends met at the home of Corrine Croxall to have a visit with Mable Carter a former member, now living in Western Canada, but was back in our area visiting friends & relatives. The weather did not cooperate very well on Friday, but the Epsom-Utica U.C.W. held a very successful Yard and Bake Sale at the home of Irene Fielding. Our sincere thanks to Irene and all others who gave of their time and talent. Remember the Uxbridge Seniors' Bazaar and Bake Sale Oct. 19 at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be served and of course we are hoping you have lots of tickets for the lucky draw. On October 18, you must have entered the Champion Pie Contest sponsored by Ux- MAKE MAYOR MALCOLM Epsom News by J Tr bridge Community Care. Then Oct. 26 is the big "Pie- in-the Sky" party at Uxbridge Legion Hall. There will be lunch, (including pie) with a programme of fiddling and dancing. Celebrating Thanksgiving, also Virginia's 6th birthday, Doug and Beth Wilson enter- tained the Evans' family and Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Wilson with dinner on Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson were guests of their daughter Carol and her husband Dennis Irwin for dinner on Sunday. Faye and Keith Ashton and family, Ruth Ashton, Don and Stella Asling were dinner guests on Monday with Clay and Julia Dempsey of Port Perry. Port Perry Country Style Donuts store is the leader in sales and services The Country Style Donuts shop on the corner of Simcoe Street and Highway 7A has be- come the leader.in sales and service across Canada, an- nounced the owner of the Port Perry store, Ken Carruthers. The Scarborough store on the corner of Progress Avenue and Highway 401 had previ- ously held a 10-year monopoly on the top spot. According to Mr. Carruthers, the Port Perry branch is aver- aging about 45,000 customers each month, which translates into 55,000 to 60,000 cups of coffee a month and in excess of $1 million in sales per year. He credits the store's success to several ideal conditions.
