£4 PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, October 16 1991 - 31 Epsom Public School cross country running team, comprised of about 45 team mem- bers, participated in the Durham Central meet on Thursday, October 10 at Trillium Valley. Two teams and several individual runners from Epsom Public School have qualified to compete in the Durham Final cross country meet. Both the eight-year-old boys and 10- year-old girls teams placed second. Individual runners who qualified were Sarah Beirness (second place), Tanya Wilson (fourth place), Graig Evans (fourth place), Ross Gower (sev- enth place), and Scott Evans (eighth place). On Wednesday, Oct. 16 the senior boys soccer team will meet Central on home turf at 3:30 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 17, girls field hockey will take place at Port. At 2:30 p.m. they meet Eastdale, and at 4:30 p.m. Ux- bridge. A senior boys invitational volleyball tournament will also be held at the school. On Friday, Oct. 18 the senior and,junior boys soccer teams will travel to McLaughlin. Sen- iors play at 2:30 p.m. and jun- iors at 3:45 p.m. The junior boys volleyball team will be compet- ing at the Henry Street tourna- ment, and the Midgets at An- derson. In overtime, B&R easily pre- vailed 5-1. Scoring for the Swampers was Brian Pomeroy with one goal and two assists, Brian Robinson one goal, one assist, Mike Mitchell one goal, one assist, Dave Canning one goal, Willie Edwards one goal, Mike Geer two assists, Wayne Lown two assists and Ken Bryant one assist. Game two had "Snowy Down's" return to Monsma's lineup and he scored the team's first two goals of the year as Monsma beat Emmerson's 2-0.
