With the host-team short- handed our team started a comeback when Casey scored again from the side of the slot on an assist by Derek Tindall. Now the "Petes" started to panic and took several need- less penalties. Dillan Weber potted the tying goal on an as- sist by Justin Kowalczyk. The exciting comeback was completed when Adam Jones scored on a 2-on-1 break using his winger as a decoy. Chris Jones gained an assist on the goal. Lots of credit to our "A's" for a gritty effort and compo- sure in avoiding retaliation penalites when our hosts switched to a very 'rough' style of play. On October 18th, our team was at home against the rival squad from Uxbridge and the visitors took advantage of a power-play for a 1-0 lead. They came close again when a shot deflected harmlessly off our goalpost. With our lines not clicking on passes in the offensive zone the visitors won the first period. In the second period our spark-plug Casey again got his team charged up when he stole the puck in the "Bruins" end, skated in and scored on a low shot to the stickside to tie the score. Late in the period Malmont had a 3-on-1 power- play chance foiled by Ux- bridge. Momentum built for Port Perry in the final period and they grabbed the lead when Scott Jeffrey assisted on Ca- sey's second goal of the game. With the lead our forwards did some good neutral zone check- ing to limit any Uxbridge re- covery. Late in the third peri- od Scott Harper and the other 'blue-liners" played well with Port playing 2 men short. Our 4-1 victory was cement- ed in the third period on goals by Seth Gray from Dillan We- ber and Casey, as well as by Justin Sheehey on a nice play from behind the net by Brad Johnston and an assist by Troy Campbell.
