Durham Shoestring Performers The Durham Shoestring Per- formers are prepared to turn up the heat for their upcoming production of Boiler Suite. This award-winning Canadi- an drama by Rex Deverell cen- tres around two derelicts, Ag- gie Rose, a would-be actress (played by Sherry Lion), and Sprugg, a failed poet (played by Matt Champion). "They are people with dreams who have been forced to face reality," explains direc- tor Tony Reines. "But the dreams are still there." As the two characters reveal their fantasies in the boiler room of an old hotel, their dreams and reality merge. Then the hotel's caretaker, Pete (played by Ken Bond), dis- covers them. The conflict between two worlds and the struggle for power between them "allows the actors the opportunity to explore different emotional lev- els of the characters," he says. Tickets for Boiler Room Suite are $5 and are available at Merle Norman Cosmetics in the Oshawa Centre, and at In- formation Oshawa, in the Oshawa City Hall. The play will be presented Nov. 1,2, 7, 8 and 9 at the Arts Resource Centre in the Oshawa City Hall Complex, at 8 p.m. nightly. Room Derelicts Aggle Rose (Sherry Lion) and Sprugg (Matt Cham- pion) reveal their failed dreams in the Durham Shoestring Performers' upcoming production of Boller Room Suite.
