Children and parents enjoy pizza party a a ts 2 The United Church congre- gation of Epsom-Utica invites everyone to join with them this coming Sunday at 11 a.m. in Epsom Church for their An- Blackstock United Church anniversary Blackstock United Church wants to share their Anniver- sary celebration with friends from other communities and denominations this week-end, Nov. 2and 3. Special guests are Ron and Kris Klusmeier, Ministers of Music and Worship Arts. They specialize in concerts, worship celebrations and workshops. Ron is a trained musician- composer whose music is sung, published and recorded throughout the world. Kris is a vocalist with specialized abili- ties in song-leading, communi- cation and drama. Together, they blend their talents to in- troduce new words, ideas, and challenges to all who attend their presentations. The sensitivity, power and integrity of their work has been experienced first-hand by thou- sands throughout the United States and Canada as the Klus- meiers have travelled across North America sharing their concerns, joys, struggles and love for life. They have worked with over 1,200 congregations since their full-time ministry beganin 1970. Ron and Kris served the United Church of Canada as National Music Ambassadors. They were involved with broad- casting work with the Religious Department of CBC Television and Alberta Interfaith, the co- operative media voice of the Catholic, Anglican, Presbyteri- an, Lutheran and Moravian Churches in Alberta. They have visited every province con- ducting workshops and pre- senting concerts. The Klusmeiers have been based in Cascade, Winsconsin for the last 10 years, but recent- ly moved to Stittsville, outside Ottawa. They are working with an Ottawa church congrega- tion. Ron writes new hymns and songs and works as a writ- ing composing team with au- thors Walter Farquharson, Ruth Duck and Fred Kaan. Their music will be available at the Saturday afternoon workshop and Saturday eve- ning concert. Former Minister Rev. Nancy Water- man will be the guest speaker. Lunch will be served tollowing the service. Ladies remember to bring sandwiches or squares. The U.C.W. will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. for dessert and refreshments at the home of Grace Kirk on the 6th line. Rev. Deborah Murray will be the guest speaker. The Sunday School's Pizza Party which was held last Fri- day, was well attended by ap- - prox. 35 children and parents. All had a good time, with their full of pizza, enjoyed apple bobbing, games and movies. There were 13 tables of eu- chre played on Friday evening with prizes going to the follow- ing: Ladies 1st Verna Draper, 2nd Norrine Hill, 3rd Mary Borland. Men's 1st Carl Gim- blett, 2nd Stan Beach, 3rd Martin Gall. Freeze-out win- ners were Ross and Grace Thompson, Verna Smith and Marion Thompson were sec- ond. Draws were won by Mur- ray Geer, Norrine Hill and Grant Bright. Elsie Pogue was the winner of the 50/50 draw. There will be another euchre in two weeks. Congratulations to Tom and Kate Hawks on the arrival of a son Ian James who was born on October 19, a baby brother for Heather and Thomson. Johanna Urech is visiting her son Ron and Soraya Urech in Rochester Hills, Michigan, to help out while they are awaiting the birth of their new baby.
