Ivory Forest juniors skate to 5-2 victory Sunday, Oct. 27 the Ivory Forest Junior Ringette team played their season opener against the Mississauga Jun- iors at the Scugog Arena. Port Perry skated to a 5-2 win. The girls put forth an excellent team effort while displaying their abilities to skate, pass and score. Throughout the game Port kept the pressure on the Mis- sissauga goalie firing away twenty-nine shots. Shannon Fox earned herself two goals with singles going to Karen Kett, Dawn Doucette and Jen- nifer Smith. Assists were awarded to Kim Poppleton, Amy Parliament, Dawn Dou- cette, Karen Kett and Jennifer Smith. Team members this season are as follows: Kim Poppleton, Michelle Fitzpatrick, Leea Kinnunen, Jennifer Smith, Jennifer Morden, Dawn Dou- cette, Amy Parliament, Megan Marlowe, Karen Kett, Shan- non Fox and Tracy Pelow. The girls had a very success- ful game. Amy Parliament had a strong game on white stick backed by Jennifer Smith and Dawn Doucette. Michelle Fitz- patrick, Megan Marlowe, and Jennifer Morden, aided by Shannon Fox and Kim Popple- ton-on defence kept Mississau- ga's total shots on goal down to nine. If Sunday's game can be used as an indicator the Ivory Forest Juniors should enjoy a productive season.
