Summer Theatre had slight increase in deficit after summer season Brian Tremblay, artistic di- rector of the Kawartha Sum- mer Theatre, announced at that organization's annual general meeting, there had been a slight increase in the accuinulated deficit after the close of the 1991 summer sea- son. Seven thousand dollars was added to the existing debt bringing the current deficit to $45,000. Mr. Tremblay sighted a short fall in revenue from the play sponsorship program as the principal reason for the increase in the deficit. "In these hard economic times," said Mr. Tremblay. "It has become increasingly diffi- cult to recruit sponsorship support from the business community. We know the sup- port for us is out there and we will be redoubling our efforts in that area for the 1992 sea- son." Despite this short fall in funds, the Kawartha Summer Theatre showed real growth in its 1991 season. There was a 10% increase in attendance over the previous season which represents 2,000 admis- sions and box office receipts met their projected budget.
