ere we are, already into the second month of 2008, and once again we've already witnessed a number of faces changing within our busi- ness community... For starters... as reported last month, Just B-Cuz Craft and Gift Shop closed it’s doors at 255 Queen St. the end of December leaving a gaping hole in that section of town. Fortunately, the space was speedily filled by Caviar & Cobwebs, who will be packed up their merchandise and moved across the street to fill the opening. The former store occupied by Caviar & Cobwebs at 242 Queen St., was quickly tak- en over by “Inspirations On Queen Street” who will be expanding to double its floor space by the middle of March. It appears as if the space formerly occu- pied by the Waterfront Diner, at the corner of Water and Mary streets, has been taken over by a new tenant. The new eatery will be called the Waterfront Pub this time around. We've seen numerous changes over the past few years at this location so hopefully the new owners will find success. Anew service to area residents became available last month when Deborah Grose opened an office providing hypnosis treat- ment. Deborah is a Psycho Linguistics Spe- cialist and will assist patients lose weight, quit smoking, quit drinking, sleep better. Office is located at Lake Winds Health on Perry Street. 1893 Scugog St., Port Perry website: www.focusonscugog.com *FOCUS. FEB.2008.indd 3 One new business we overlooked in No- vember was EM Finds, which offers coun- try inspired decor. This store opened at 180 addition to the front entrance, also has an entrance at the rear conveniently located in the parking lot. Bliss Interior Design, located in the rear of Luke’s Country Store has moved to the location formerly occupied by Doris Shoes. Port Perry Villa appears to be about to open a sales office in the plaza located at the corner of Water St. and 7A Hwy. This will be to market retirement rooms in the new complex they are constructing beside Com- munity Nursing Home on Simcoe St. north. FOCUS - FEBRUARY 2008 3 vase 1101590 |
