Vol. 2 Number 1 The Township of Scugog is hosting a one day confer- ence and evening public open house on May 8th at the Scugog Community Centre on Reach Street in Port Perry. It will be an opportunity for a wide range of government, environmental and community stakeholders to learn about the Lake, the status of the Lake Scugog Environmental Management Plan and various other projects underway for improving Lake Scugog. It will also be an opportunity for participant groups and the public to put forward ideas for the future. The day will kick-off with a Provincial Ministry, Kawartha Conservation and agency panel discussion on current ini- tiatives going on about the lake. This will be followed by a presentation from Doug Downey, Chair of the recent Trent-Severn Waterway panel about the waterway. Les- OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC Should you be interested, a number of spots for citi- zens have been reserved for the daytime conference. OPEN HOUSE The general community is invited to learn about the highlights of the work of the conference at an open house following the daytime sessions.
