Artist's conceptual rendering of the new Port Perry Villa Port Perry Villa opens showroom to begin selling new ‘Villa’ suites Officials of the new Port Perry Villa are striving to duplicate the “special feeling” present behind the aging walls of the 30 year old Villa when the new facility opens next spring. “The old building is in poor shape, but there’s such a great feeling in there,” says Liz Auston, marketing manager for the company. The new four-story, 100 unit facility, currently under construction at the corner of Simcoe and Coulter St. is expected to start receiving residents by the spring of 2009. rt Perry Villa’s presentation centre opened recently, but Ms. Auston said she experienced considerable interest at the centre while it was still under construction. Before the ‘centre’ opened, more than 85 people had their names put on a waiting list. “The owners (Port Perry Villa) really didn’t expect so much inter- est this early,” she sais The new facility promises to be modern, but comfortable and will offer all kinds of activities and services for its residents. A large community room, auditorium with stage, dining room and a 24 hour cafe and pub are just some of the facilities residents will find on the main floor. Other facilities and services provided include a hair salon, barber shop, computer room, chapel, exercise room and a library lounge with fireplace. “It will be exciting for the residents when we open. They will be able to do a lot of things that many of them probably can’t do now,” explained Ms. Auston. Also on the main floor will be a resident's kitchen, where they can come to bake or cook. And there is also a family dining room which can be reserved for special ocassions or family functions. website: www.focusonscugog.com JUNE FOCUS/44 pages indd 9 Liz Auston, Port Perry Villa marketing manager, is now on hand to greet visitors at their Water St. Presentation Centre The remaining three floors will provide living acommodations ranging from 350 sq. ft. studio suites to one bedroom units ranging from 460-475 sq. ft, and two bedroom suites sized 650-685 sq. ft. But for most, a large comfortable dining room will provide three meals a day for the 138 residents living in the Villa. The dining room, as well as the cafe, will also have light snacks available throughout the day and evening. Each of the residential floors also will have a laundry room and on the second floor is a lounge with television. To ensure all residents have access to health care, Port Perry Villa will also have a nurse on call 24 hours a day and each room is eavipped with a buzzer linked to the staff office. ant our residents to experience that same feeling you get witha a friend when they're here,” Liz says.
