Did You Know? - Durham Region Transit, established in January 2006, reached a milestone September 9 when the 20 millionth rider was chosen from each of the communities the transit sys- tem serves. There are currently three full-time fire- fighters who work out of the Port Perry station. A fourth full-time firefighter is sched- uled to be hired in the near future. In addition there are more than 50 volunteer fire- fighters between its Caesa- rea and Port Perry stations. Fire services are available 24 hours a day by calling 911.
