Se CUugog Arts See Tue The Kent Farndale Gallery has a special treat for the month of November with the exhibition of Karen Sloan's acrylic work, entitled “Inside and Out”. Karen, a Haliburton based artist is influenced by horticulture, jazz and her love for interior design. Her florals capture a crisp and vi- brant stillness, but at the same time imply movement by embodying an organic essence. Karen's landscapes are bold and distinct, usually capturing a moment in life the viewer can relate to -a martini glass on a table after a long day at work, the slightly dishevelled appearance of the living room after a dinner party or one’s favourite chair, still warm with slippers by the fire. Karen Sloan’s exhibition begins Saturday, November | and runs until Thursday, November 22 at the Kent Farndale Gallery in the Memo- rial Library on Water Street. Snowflake Sale The Scugog Memorial Library will once again host the annual Snowflake sale during the month of December. Artisans from the township will be showing and selling their crafts in time for Christmas. Be sure to mark December 6-22 ‘on your calendars so as not to miss out on the great gift opportunities that will be available.
