Dave Mercer casts a big one for the Blue Jays Dave Mercer has accomplished a lot in his chosen career as a profession- al fisherman and television personal- ity, but this very likeable man is about to add another accomplishment to his list of ‘firsts.’ On September 21, at the Roger’s Centre in Toronto, ‘history’ will be made when, for first time ever in major league baseball, the opening pitch for a game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles will actually be the opening cast. That cast will come from the rod of professional angler and host of televi- sion’s Facts of Fishing and Port Perry resident Dave Mercer.
