The architects and construction crews are to be commended on this outstanding work of art. The most important “con” is the need to sidestep those ugly goose droppings on all walkways. Another “con” is the lack of shaded seating for our senior citizens and parents with babies or small children. Most new benches are in the full sun and there is little seating for passengers awaiting our popular tour boat. Also, there seems to be little progress with respect to the drainage of the standing water between the gazebo and the waterfront walkway - and there should be an interlocking or boardwalk connection from the new walkway to the south pathway to Curts Street. Readers greatly appreciate articles Dear Editor: On a recent trip through parts of the northeastern USA, I could not believe the number of bicycle lanes that we saw along the side of many of the highways and streets and the large number of cyclists taking advan- tage of them. Since returning to our Scugog Island home, I have been thinking it would be unfortunate that while con- struction is underway that a bike path/lane couldn’t be incorporated into the plan so residents of the “Island” could ride into town. I would also like to see the bike path along the inside portion of the casueway leading into the town.
