SCA announces Mayor’s Gala for the Arts The Scugog Council for the Arts (SCA) is excited to announce the launch of a very special event in Scu- gog — the first Scugog Mayor’s Annual Gala for the Arts. The gala will be held on November 25 at the Scugog Community Recre- ation Centre and will include a dinner featuring local food, fabulous enter- tainment and an incredibly tempting silent and live auction, showcasing art and fine craft. The SCA actively works with the Township of Scugog to cultivate a creative community with a vibrant arts scene and cultural economy. Recent reports demonstrate that Scugog has one of the fastest growing arts communities in all of Canada, with a 60% increase in artists between 2001 and 2006. Museum to host popular Murder Mystery night The Scugog Shores Muse- um is hosting its popular Mur- der Mystery Evening on Septem- ber 10, starting at 7:30 p.m. It's Open House night at Villain High School and friends and family are invited to come and celebrate the students’ ac- complishments.
