Thirty six teams and more than 200 enthusiastic hockey play- ers converged on the lakefront; Port Perry, on January 29.to take part in the second annual Pond Hockey Tournament. Unlike'the extremely cold weather last year, this years players and organizers were greeted Saturday morning to temperatures ranging around -10G; but sunny skies made it feel much warmer. Teams competed all day on nine large ice surfaces while spee~ tators lined the rinks keeping warm with hot coffee and chocolate provided by local vendors. The event, organized to help local charities, raised in excess of $15,000 from the day long event. According to organizers this was up by $5,000 from the previous year. Photos by J.
