Borelians to stage Pulitzer Prize winner “Our Town” The Borelians Community Theatre is busy preparing for its next production - the 1938 Pulitzer Prize winning drama “Our Town”, by Thornton Wilder. “Our Town” has since become a classic of the theatre, widely performed all across North America. The show chron- icles the life of asmall town in New Hampshire from the years 1901-1913, center- ing on the budding romance, and even- tual marriage of Emily Webb and George Gibb. The play uses minimal sets and props, and is narrated by a character known as the Stage Manager, a kindly soul who introduces us to all of the won- derful, and ordinary folk of this wonder- fully ordinary small town. The cast of this production, directed by Ruth Smith, features a variety of famil- iar and new faces to the Port Perry stage, young and old alike. So come on out and enjoy an evening of classic theatre. And displayed in the Patron’s Lounge of the Town Hall during the show will be a se- ries of photographs depicting Port Perry at the turn of the 20th century, provided by Scugog Shores Museum.
