This tournament will take place on Saturday, January 28 and as of mid-December 17 teams had been confirmed. Organizers are hoping for at least 34 teams to register in the day-long event. Last year, 36 teams and more than 200 players took part in the popular event. Teams competed all day on nine large ice surfaces while spectators lined the rinks keeping warm with coffee and hot chocolate provided by local vendors. This year the tournament has chosen to raise funds for an EKG/ Neonatal Monitor for Lakeridge Health. Seven of these units are needed at a cost of $25,000 each. In the past two years $10,000 was donated to Scugog Memorial Library Expansion and Autism Ontario, Dur- ham, and $15,000 for Durham Dragons Special Hockey. Keep an eye out in the local newspapers for further about the Polar Plunge January |4 The popular Port Perry Hospital Auxiliary “Polar Plunge” will hold its fifth annual plunge on Saturday, January 14, beginning at 11 a.m. in Palmer Park.
