The past month has been very quiet in our community. The good news is, unlike last month, we have no store closings to report. We are always happy when there are no closings as it is a sign that our businesses are cop- ing with the endless challenges that are a part of these economic times. This month has seen just a couple of changes. Groff Landscaping and Tru Star Auto Body and Collision have moved from their North Port Road locations. They are now at their new home, 15800 Hwy. 12, which is right across the street from the police station. As of this past January, Karen James and her daugh- ters Stephanie and Amanda have purchased Stonemoor Day Care Centre at 399 Queen Street. Karen, an almost 20 year employee at Stonemoor, has updated and freshened the centre and has renamed her new business, Where We Grow Early Learning Centre Inc. Focus on Scugog would like to remind readers that as a small business we can’t always know what is happening in all corners of the township, so if you know there is movement afoot please give us a call and we can include your information in Changing Faces.
