Bikes rumble into Scugog for Durham’s annual “Ride For Dad” If estimates are correct, more than 200 motorcycles will thunder through Port Perry on Saturday, June 9th, as the Durham Chapter of “Ride For Dad” is holding their 7th annual ride for prostate cancer research and awareness. There are 30 chapters of this organiza- tion across Canada. This year the ride will originate from Port Perry, leaving the Scugog Arena at 9:30 a.m. for a parade of bikes through the downtown. The riders will then head east towards Asselstine’s in Blackstock and continue to Beaverton, Lindsay and Little Britain before returning to the Scugog Arena on Reach Road. Following the tour, registered riders will take part in a “Motorcycle Show and Shine”. Since the ride began about $200,000 has been raised for prostate cancer research.
