Cadenza Productions to bring ‘A Little Night Music’ to town Scugog Township theatre goers will delight in Cadenza Production’s musical theatre presentation this summer, as the company presents Stephen Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music” at Town Hall 1873 - Centre for the Performing Arts, July 5 to 14, 2012. This award-winning production, based on an Ingmar Bergman film, “Smiles of a Summer Night”, is considered to be Sondheim’s most successful, romantic and audience-pleasing work, full of breathtaking lyrics and music and a plot that deals with the universal subject of love, in all its wondrous, humorous and ironic variations. The story is full of plots, accusations and unexpected revelations as, during a contrived weekend in the country, the three couples are brought together under one never-ending Scandinavian summer night and every- one - men, women, and the heavens above - conspire to set the adven- tures right once and for all. Cadenza Productions brings the richness of “A Little Night Music” to life through the musical directon of Cadenza founder, Carol Salamone and director/ choreographer, Carey Nicholson, reunited as a team for the first time since Cadenza’s “Beauty and the Beast” three years ago. “A Little Night Music” requires a strong cast with the ability to deliver as both actors and singers, both as individual characters and as an en- semble, to sweep the audience up in this witty and urbane musical. Tickets are now on sale at Town Hall 1873 - Centre for the Performing Arts and may be purchased at 302 Queen St. Port Perry, by phone 905- 985-8181 or online at www.townhall1873.ca.
