Scugog residents came out in full support of the Port Perry Terry Fox Run Sep- tember 16 and although the total number of participants was down, a whopping $36,224.84 was raised. This is largest amount ever collected at the event in the 19 years it has been organized locally. A beautiful September morning greeted 445 people who gathered in Palmer Park, and while the number of participants was down from 513 a year earlier, donations were up almost $5,600 from the $30,626 raised in 2011. When this year’s donations are added into the overall total raised by the Port Perry run, it shows this generous community has raised $881,915.55.
