Plans underway for icy dip in Lake Scugog February 8 Even though Lake Scugog has yet to freeze over, the ladies of Port Perry’s Hospital Auxiliary are already making plans for their 7th annual Polar Plunge. Once again this year, the Polar Plunge will take place during the Chamber of Commerce “Feb Fest” celebrations. The plunge will take place on Saturday, February 8 at 2 p.m. in Palmer Park. Using the theme, “Let’s Get Freezin’ For A Reason”, organiz- ers are already busy planning for the popular fundraiser and are promising an exciting event. The program includes a fish pond, hot chocolate, coffee and popcorn, and following their cold dip, plungers can shake off their chills in hot tubs. Food and awards will follow the activities in the Latcham Centre. But with two months to go, there’s plenty of work to be done and plunge organizers are asking anyone wanting to participate to contact them and get registered. Individual plungers are asked to raise a minimum of $200 in pledges. If you want to plunge with a partner, remember to let the committee know when you sign up. are also welcome.
