UNDS F Tat SEASON The North Durham Concert Band is preparing for its annual Christmas concert, “Sounds of the Season”. The band is comprised of approximately 25 brass, woodwind and percussion musicians who meet on Wednesday evenings, at R-H. Cornish Public School. “Sounds of the Season” is a delightful and afford- able family event, which will be performed at Port Perry United Church, 294 Queen St, on December 10, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation and light refresh- ments will be served. This year the band will also be performing in the Ux- bridge Santa Claus Parade, at various senior centres the Sunderland Music Festival. The North Durham Concert Band completes its season in the spring with a local con- cert , venue and time still to be determined. Old-Fashioned Christmas Step back in time and tour through the historic Scugog Shores Museum Village, traditionally decorated for the holi- days with evergreen boughs, bright ribbons and berries. This one day event takes place December 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children will learn and enjoy various activities spread through the village. Visit with Santa Claus, string popcorn and cranberries in the Lee House, decorate cookies in the Log Cabin, create unique ornaments to hang on your tree, decorate traditional Victorian Christmas cards, visit with the blacksmith, explore the Museum Village at 16210 Island Road, and enjoy a Holiday Scavenger Hunt. Enjoy hot chocolate, cider and Christmas cookies in the church throughout the day. Admission: Adults $4, Students and Seniors $3, Children 5-12 $2, Children under 5 are free.
