THug THUMBS UP - to Dianne Hooker, Sales Represen- tative with Coldwell Banker R.M.R. for ranking sixth throughout all of Canada in the Coldwell Banker system in Closed Adjusted Gross Commission Income for 2014. Through hard work and assisting people with one of the most important purchase of their lives, nice to see her recognized this way!! THUMBS DOWN - tis that time of the year! One resident sent us a note to say he watched as two people got out of their vehicle on a very hot day and locked a dog in the car for at least an hour! Sure the windows were cracked a tad, but let's think people, would you want to be locked in a vehicle for an hour? We think not! THUMBS UP - to Noreen (Toots) Malcolm, for being honoured with the ‘Senior of the Year’ award by Scugog Council. We can't think of anyone more deserving of this award! And in Toots fashion, she deflects the accolades on to others! THUMBS DOWN -A reader submitted a thumbs down to the Focus for some major errors in the June issue. The descriptions under the frog images were both wrong. The spring pepper description was under the mink frog image and the mink frog under the spring pepper image. Then in the Jonathan van Bilsen ar- ticle twice the word mammals was used to describe reptiles. Thumbs down for this poor editing. THUMBS DOWN - to the dog owner who brought his dog into Food Basics under the guise of a service dog. Why would you bring your dog into the store after a swim, only to let it shake the wetness off inside? As if that was not enough, an elderly gentleman slipped and fell only moments after you left the store. If your dog is not on duty and acting as a service dog then you have to follow the rules like everyone else, "NO PETS ALLOWED”. Oh yes, and a thank you to the lady who was brave enough to stand out of the crowd and say something to you. THUMBS UP - to C. Ryan Edgar for being selected New Deputy Fire Chief for the Municipality of Port Hope. Chief Edgar is now responsible for the lead- ership, ini i the Port Hope Fire Department. DRPS will certainly miss him, but at least he’s staying here locally in Port Perry. * 1/2 Helmets $40 & up * Gloves $25 & up * Jackets $125 & up * Pants $60 & up * Rain Gear 2 piece $75 * Heated Vests 99.95 & up CLEARANCE PRICING ON ALL REMAINING STREET MOTORCYCLE APPAREL AND ACCESSORIES OWNED SINCE 1971 10 Min East of Port Perry, 905.986.4437 Take 7A to Durham Rd. 57, www.asselstines.com 6km south FULL SERVICE & PARTS DEPARTMENT Check out our used line-up at Www.asselstines.com Shop Local and Support your Dealer FOCUS - JULY2015 21
