Arts Council wants you to show the love We all know there is lots to love about Port Perry and Scugog. This year the Scugog Council for the Arts wants you to put it to music in preparation for the Mayor’s Gala for the Arts. The gala theme this year is “Scugog Rocks” and the SCA is inviting singer songwriters to enter the Scugog Tribute Song Writing Contest. All genres of music are welcome, and there will be three prizes of $500 awarded to the top artists that best reflect a positive vibe for Scugog. The goal of the SCA is to support local arts and artists and that includes visual arts, craft, music, theatre, literature and more. “We're really excited about the song writing Deadline for the contest is September 8th, 2015. There are a number of rules which can be viewed on the arts council website www. scugogarts.ca or call 905-982-2121 for more competition,” said Gala chair Birgitta MacLeod. “The three winning entries will have their world premiere at the event on November 5th.
