On Sunday, Dec. 29, fifty de- scendants of Roy and Venora Ferguson gathered at Nestle- ton Hall for their annual Christmas get together. They enjoyed delicious food, much visiting and a great time to- gether. Also on Sunday, Dec. 29, about 35 descendants of Er- nest and Edna Larmer met at the Blackstock United Church C.E. room for their annual hol- iday gathering. Glenn and Marion Larmer hosted this family gathering. Mr. Bruce Mor- rison and his wife Debbie became members of our church. We welcome them with their son David, now living on Pearl Drive, moving here from Kingston. Mrs. Judy Gibson gave a report from Mission and Service. Mrs. Rita Stickwood sang beautifully "Sharing is the Best Part."' Rev. Shepherd, with the elders con- ducted the Holy Communion _ t Service. A community bridal shower will be held for Denise Gibson at the home of her parents Brenda and Keith Gibson on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. Ladies please bring lunch. oo On Sunday, Mrs. Muriel Gibson with Don and Helen McKean had dinner with Mrs. Eileen Jarvis in Oshawa. It was exciting for me on Sun- day. 1 spoke on the phone to a friend of Muriel's and mine in "Tasmania," on an island south of Australia. She is oing to meet Rev. Rodgers tour in Melbourne Australia when we arrive there on March 28. I could dial the number direct and it was like phoning to someone across the street. We are sorry to report Mr. Frank Lee is now a patient in Ux- bridge Health Centre. We do wish better health for Mrs. Laura Lee. The Greenbank Church senior choir practice will start this Thursday at 8 p.m. Just imagine a night out for a fabulous Italian dinner. Think about it, garlic break, salad, beverages and ice-cream and Ss gheit) This event takes place at ( reenbank United Church on "Jan. 19. All proceeds go to the Greenbank Youth Group. Our sympathy goes out to the family of Mr. Elmer Rennie who passed away recently. He will be missed by his family and long time friends. Don and Helen McKean attend- ed the funeral in Markham of Mr. John Graham of Locust Hill. His wife Mary is a very dear friend of Helens. In 1948 they were neighbors in Locust Hill. Better health is also wished for Jennie and Frank Bailey who are currently both pa- tients in Port Perry Hospital.
