Wm. Fairley with Joyce Taylor in charge of the music. The book of the Bible for the children this week was Mark - se- cond book of the New Testament. The responsive Psalm was 71 and Scripture from Jeramiah I and 1st Corinthians. In the sermon, Rev. Fairley spoke of everyone being an individual - yet one of an interlock- ing group. We should remember the teaching of our parents and stay true to our principles, doing everything with love. Joyce Taylor donated some books to start a Lending Library for the church. Our appreciation to Joyce. Church Annual Meeting Following the pot luck luncheon, the annual meeting of the congrega- tion assembled at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wm. Fairley as chairman. Minutes of the 1991 annual were adopted and old business brought up to date. Reports have been printed in booklet form by Joyce Taylor, and all reports adopted. Members of the Board of Managers were renewed for three years - two years and one year term. Secretary-treasurer Dorothy McCabe was thanked for her work. The yearly donation was voted to the Presbyterian Sharing. An ex- ecutive committee was named for the Historical data for the 150th An- niversary in three years time. Organist Joyce Taylor - assistant - Shirley Scott - to continue. Repairs and improvement referred to the Board of Managers attention! Nestleton United Church A brisk, bright Sunday morning, Feb. 2, 11:15 a.m. brought an average congregation to the Nestleton United, with Joanna Malcolm and family warmly welcoming the worshippers at the door. Rev. Dale Davis conducted the service opening with the Approach and Call to Worship. In the choir a quintet sang '"To Be God's People" with Karen Yellowlees at the piano. The minister based his message on "Are You A Crocus..Or A Rose?' "It takes courage to love and follow God' from Scripture Jeremiah 1:4 - 10 and Luke 4: 20-30 with John Waters the reader. The Sacrament of The Lord's Sup- per was administered, and the minister was assisted by Clerk of Session Richard MacKenzie and Board of Steward member Ina Davis. The Lord's Prayer was sung by all - and the choir sang 'Take Our Bread." Neta Fish and Barbara Weir gathered the offering, and the ser- vice closed with hymn 'On This Day Of Sharing" by Stanley L. Osborne 1907, followed by Commission - Benediction and Three Fold Amen. Our very best wishes to those fine folk in hospital from the Blackstock- Nestleton charge.
