a= 18 - PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, March 17, 1992 Changes planned for the local post office A AA A I BA A EAS AE SSS ER SR Changes are certainly in the plans according to Canada Post whose of- ficials have released news that our local post office is slated to be clos- ed in mid-June. There will be an open public meeting sometime in April when local residents will have an opportunity to voice our strong opinions on the decision. I am sure that our M.P. Ross Stevenson will be hearing from many of the Blackstock residents. Our community lost a very color- ful resident in the passing of Ivan Cochrane. Ivan was a well known horseman - breeder, racer, judge as well as having held public office at the local municipal government. Ivan also had been very active in the Agricultural Society for many years. Our thoughts go to Mrs. Cochrane and to his family Don, Doreen, Joyce and Judy and their families. On Sunday an open house was held in Peterborough to celebrate the 90th birthday of Vera Forder. Many relatives and friends from Blackstock attended this happy gathering to wish Vera a happy birthday. On Sunday, Richard and Ruby Van Camp and Jill entertained Ross and Dorothy Sager of St. George, Maggie Sager and Brian Van Cam of London, Lois and Glen Mac , Cheryl and Beverly. Jill returned back with them to visit Louise and Jeff Carrell and girls during winter INCOME TAX .. BOOKKEEPING PROBLEMS? LET US HELP! Reasonable Rates by Joyce Kelly A Ras Ne break. If you think this very wintry cold weather was a shock to your system, what about those many robins and other spring birds who arrived back much too early? On Saturday Tara and Terry Taylor, Joy and Ian Rudkin, Peter Vanderheul, Gerald and Joyce Kel- ly all enjoyed a fine day of curling at the Manvers Mixed Bonspiel.
