Since its inception on Feb. 3, over 12,600 Cana- dian households have made use of First Home Loan Insurance to pur- chase their first house with a down payment as low as five per cent. This represents over a quarter of all homeowner loans which CMHC has insured to date this year. The total value of First Home loans is almost $1.2 billion.
