Anyone interested in lawn bowling is en- couraged to come out and bring a friend. A pair of flat soled shoes is a requirement. Scheduled games will begin on Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 27. There is no recession on fish- ing in Bobcaygeon! The 15th an- nual "Canada Us" Walleye Tournament will be held on May 22, 23, and 24th, 1992 at larger facilities at the Beach Park. Consisting of 150 two man teams (ladies too) arrive for orientation night Friday, sign in, become familiar with the tournament rules. Then be entertained by the Old Tyme Fiddlers. The Kinsmen committee have been diligently preparing by contacting local and corpo- rate sponsors rewards along with approximately $15,000 in cash and trophies. For the gamblers there is a 50/60 draw by the local Cham- ber of Commerce, along with hats and T-shirts. For all the tournament par- ticipants, is a chance on a Con Northtrail 16 foot Princecraft boat with 40 horsepower motor. Bobcaygeon Walleye tourney This trailer is drawn for on clos- ing day Sunday and has noth- ing to do with the size or how many fish caught. Live release and weigh ins are closely supervised by volun- teer Sir Sandford Environmen- tal and Fish and Wildlife staff, Chris Westcott and wife Katy. Regulation Shimano scales are employed during the tourna- ment. Part of our ongoing sup- port of the environment, live re- lease and fish and wildlife studies is demonstrated by our annual donation of funds to support an ongoing bursary for academic achievement, in this area. The house league champions of the Legion Dart League were Sharon Chapman, John Tur- cotte, Clare Nightingale and Captain Jim Smith- erman. The first season for ball hockey got under- way. In the first match Dale McQuade's Gold team defeated Courtice 3-2. Goal scorers were Rob Moore, Rob Morris and Danny Taylor for the Gold team and Dwight Bronson and John Borgoff for Courtice. Paul Beare's Red Team and Mike McQuade's White team fought to a 4- 4 draw in the second match.
