Many sons and daugh- ters joined their Mothers in church on Sunday. Rev. Shep- herd baptized the children of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Gibson, Mel- anie and Samantha also Jenni- fer daughter of Ron and Bonny Rahm. We are happy to report Mr. Neil Hunter is improving in Oshawa Hospital after suffer- ing a heart attack last week. Now we hope Jean does not work too hard. The 30th anniversary of U.C.W. church service will be held on Sunday, May 24 at 11a.m. All former members who have moved away from Green- bank are asked to attend. Both the afternoon and evening groups of U.C.W. are planning this very special service. On May 27 the Greenbank Women's Institute are having their 30th anniversary party at Greenbank Hall. The "Golden Slippers" will entertain the in- vited guests, as well "Our Sing- ers" will help with the program. Members please come and bring a friend. Local folks may want to take advantage of two projects re- cently undertaken by Durham Environmental Network D.E.N.'s air and water quality sub-committee. One involved Christian School news It's been a busy time at Scu- gog Christian School. Mrs. Libby's Class - Kinder- garten and Grade 1 can hardly believe it is May already. Aside from our regular work, we look forward to our tour of Port Perry Hospital, and our trip this week to the Bowmanville Zoo. Miss Kolkman's Grade 2 and Grade 3 class has been working hard at improving addition and multiplication skills. So far we have been doing our mad min- utes in two minutes - continue to practice at home. In Bible we are memorizing Joshua 1:7-9, and in social studies we will be leaving Switzerland this week and flying home. So far we've had a wonderful trip and learned a lot as we toured around Switzerland by watch- ing a tourist video. Mr. Cook's class is thrilled that spring is here and is look- ing forward to field day. Let's not forget to do our homework too, class! Science test is this Wednesday and our Science Re- portis due Friday. The Grade 7 and Grade 8 class - Mrs. Steele finds the year i8 flying by! We are busy study- ing Integers in math, as well as Graphs and Relations. We have a poetry project, are studying the Turtle and Moose in science, and the Sahel Region in Africa for geography. This week we will study the "pesky" mosquito and see how it fits in God's crea- | tion. | the purchase of six copies of a David Susuki "Nature of Things" video about organic farming. The videos can be bor- rowed from a number of librar- ies including the one in Port Perry and Uxbridge. As well, in- formation kits about pesticides are available.
