Missed from last week's re- port of the O.N.O. news - Fol- lowing the visit to Bill Lish- man's home the interesting evening continued back at Har- vey and Joan Grahams where we enjoyed lunch prepared by another neighbor who owns a successful eating establish- ment in Markham. Obviously no crumbs remained. While eating, Stan Wonna- cott, another neighbor and member of the police force capa- bly answered multiple ques- tions on house break-ins, home security and general police in- formation. Business was short. Swim program will be organized for July in the new future. Rod Beattie tickets are going ex- tremely well. If you have not booked May 29 for this perfor- mance, phone Aileen Van Camp immediately. Thanks to every- one for a very interesting, infor- mative and fun evening. On Sunday May 3, David Ford VanCamp was baptized at Blackstock United Church. For this special occasion he wore the same christening outfit as did his father 37 years ago. A family gathering was held after the service at the home of David's parents, Dale and Janet. At- tending were Cecil and Helen Ford, Valerie VanCamp, Mer- rill VanCamp, Jean Mabhafly, Aileen VanCamp, Keith and Wilma VanCamp, and Myrtha Riederer from Switzerland. of mandatory practice ROPER RS Ry We didn't hear much com- plaining about this holiday weather. It was sure great for fireworks. I guess I was pushing the men too early to start their beards. Anyway it was a good chance to practice. As Koy Walker Smith says everyone must start with a clean shave as he tries to persuade our mayor to show an example by getting a fresh start. Another challenge for men 1s a men's chorus on Father's Day, June 21 at the Island United Church. Therefore this will re- quire attendance the Thursday night before practice. So please plan to keep this time free. There are many group meet- ings in the Island Church in May to prepare for June.
