Nestleton Presbyterian Church On a warm sunny morning, the regular service of Nestleton Presbyterian Church was con- ducted by Rev. Wm. Fairley. Shirley Scott presided at the or- gan. Psalm selection 145 and scripture readings were Micah 6 and John 13. The book of the Bible was 1 Timothy, a book teaching us to invest in the good things of life. Rev. The program showcased the students' talents in the fields of drama, music and dance. An excellent crowd of parents, grandparents and neighbors were on hand to watch the program. Students to tour hospital TET RE SL Wilda Meyers of Oshawa vis- ited her sister Elva Kerry on Sunday. Sunday morning Elva's son Paul telephoned her from England. Paul has been tracing the Stearman family in England to learn more about his grandfather's relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Watson also re- ceived a call from abroad. Their son Fred telephoned them from Japan where he is working and I received a long letter from Pat. Aslingin Belize. Donna and Cavin Eckhard called on Ruth Ashton one day last week. On Saturday, Don and Stella Asling attended the wedding of her nephew Robert Ryall to Shelley Sievert of Oshawa. The whole ceremony was in sign language and Shelley's hearing aid dog was an impor- tant part of the wedding party. Frank Van Veghel will be showing pictures and talking about his recent trip to Guijana at the Epsom United Church on Saturday evening, June 6 be- ginning with dessert and coffee at 8:30 p.m. Pictures to follow. All are welcome. Gerald and Nancy Hill and Alicia visited over the weekend with their parents in London and Innerkip and attended a family wedding in St. Marys. Kelly and Cindy had a wonder- ful time while their parents were away as they visited Ann Marie and Ken Svendsen of Port Perry and their brother Chris visited Faye and Keith Ashton. Many in the area will be sorry to learn of the passing of George Irwin on Saturday at the nurs- ing home in Uxbridge, our sym- pathy to his wife Hattie. The service on Sunday was taken by the Epsom-Utica U.C.W. Ladies in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the U.C.W. association. The ladies of the choir sang "Blessed Je- sus." All enjoyed coffee and a special anniversary cake after the service Mrs. Ruth Ashton and Mrs. Kate Crosier cut the cake. On Friday Marydale and Maurice Tapscott and their family and grandchildren watched the game from the ho- tel room at the SkyDome. U.C.W. Bake Sale on Satur- day, May 23 at Irene Fielding's home in Utica from 9 a.m. on. On Friday evening many friends of Neil and Lissa Rise- brough met at the home of Tom and Leona Armstrong for a fare- well party. These friends are moving soon and were present- ed with a gift certificate to help landscape their new home. On May 20 the Bethesda Reach Women's Institute will host the annual meeting of the Ontario North Women's Insti- tutes at 9:30 a.m. in Trinity Hall in Uxbridge. The regular monthly meeting of Bethesda-Reach W.I. will be at the home of Corrine Croxall on May 27. To end a busy month we will meet at Epsom Church May 30 at 8 p.m. to tender a miscellane- ous shower for Allan Bailey and Brenda Monroe prior to their June wedding. On May 12 the U.C.W. ladies enjoyed the talk and demon- stration by Sadie Johnson and our spiritual service led by Shir- ley Baster, thanks. Now in closing a few notes from our school: Hockey season is over - winners were Boston Bruins. Baseball season is starting with six teams. On Ar- bour Day trees were planted, a crimson maple from Greenbank Garden Center.and Mr. Fisher procured some trees to plant from the site of the New Educa- tion Centre in Whitby. Our students will be seeing "Sleeping Beauty," Friday, May 22 in Uxbridge. May 14 Epsom's presentation "Spring Swing" at 7:30 p.m. The Kindergarten class visit- ed the Hill's dairy farm. Thanks to the Hills for their hospitality. Reminder: parents please la- bel clothing, Tupperware and etc. the "lost and found," grows too fast. Thank you John Hansen and John Murison for tilling up the baseball diamond.
