The executive for the Thursday Night Men's Bowling league next season will be Don Wallace, president, Jim Wilson, treasurer, Bill Owen, secretary, and directors Gary McHugh, Jack Cook Jr. and Da- vid Durham. ISYEARS AGO WEDNESDAY,MAY 18,1977 Canoeists are gearing up for the ninth annual Canoe the Nonquon event. Port Perry Minor Baseball Association is organizing its teams for this season. In ball hockey action Port Perry's White Team defeated Courtice 7- 3. Goal scorers for Port were Phil Cochrane and Ron Southern with two each and Stuart Cochrane, Rob Evans, and Jay Williams with one each. Art Grant, Brett Laycoe and John Booroff counted for Courtice. The Red Team defeated the Gold Team 6-2 in the second match. Scor- ing for the Red team were Richie LeFort, Mike Healey, Terry Hender- son, Colin Wackett, Paul Beare and Guy Wright and scoring for the Gold Team were Randy Knight and Paul Moore. The Monday Night Ladies Bowling champs were the team of Jean Hunter, Myrtle Manns, Gayle Ballard, Ruby Dusty, Carol Wilson and Bety Collin. The Thursday Night Bowling champions were the team of Brent Johnston, Gord Goode, Peter Johnstone, Greg St. John and Kevin Walker. 10 YEARS AGO WEDNESDAY,MAY 18,1982 Cartwright gymnasts had a successful season. Individual results were as follows. Carol Lewerentz placed second all-round intermedi- ate at COSSA and LOSSA and fifth in intermediate beam at the all- Ontario final. Julie Bryant placed sixth in Junior floor at LOSSA. Heather Rowntree placed fifth in floor and beam, Jennifer Fletcher, fourth in beam, fifth in vault and sixth on floor, Tammy Rohrer was first in compulsary, Shelly Fraser was first in compulsary floor and Je- nifer Gawley was fourth on floor and sixth on beam. These results were from the Central Durham meet. The 24th annual Molson Big fish contest sponsored by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters is underway and total prize value is $35,000. The ball hockey season is underway. In the first match the Trojans defeated the Aztecs 5-4. Scoring for the Trojans were Mark Cleveland, Rob Scott, Mike Tobin, Clarke Menzies and Dennis Franssen. For the Aztecs it was Don Dasti with two and Henry Freter and Char: Knutson with one each. In the second ball hockey match the Flames defeated M and M Tire 9-0. Goal scorers were Ken Jeffery and Dale McQuade with two each, Colin Wackett, Richie LeFort, Jim Duncan, Carl Durward and Dave Bronson with one a piece. The Tiger Tails were the winners of the first section and had the highest total pinfall for the year.
