Happy birthday Nathan. A fireworks display was held on Monday evening at the Alpe home after rain had cancelled it on Sunday evening. About 30 friends and family attended. On Tuesday after school Tan- ya Stewart was playing with Christopher and Colin Brunet in front of their home when she was scratched by a cat. Al- though the cat was know in the area, the owner was not and if - the cat was not found and qua- rantined within six days, Tanya would have to begin rabies shots. Posters were put up and phone calls made. Finally on Friday night the cat was caught in a live trap and is now in qua- rantine in the animal shelter. The owner may pick it with no charge, in 10 days if it shows no signs of rabies. We the Brunets, Stewarts and Hopes, especially Tanya, are very grateful to eve- ryone for interest and co- operation we received in trying to find this cat. The morning unit of the U.C.W. met at the home of Gwe- nyth Thompson in Port Perry with 17 members and three vis- itors present. After a delicous lunch President Anita Davis opened the meeting. On Saturday, Elizabeth Peet- ers of Omemee accompanied Joyce Kelly to Kingston to the Pinning Ceremony of the Queen's University School of Nursing where Joyce presented the Eleanor Kelly Memorial Award to Christine Hiscox.
