"A Family Tradition for 126 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, May 26, 1992 - 15 Sunshine play school to in September | News A ers Nn Every Sunday service is a very special day. But this one meant more to me in 80 many ways. My daughter Penny, granddaughter Kim and hus- band came to learn what the U.C.W. can really do! We con- ducted the service in every way. Many members did their share to show what we have accom- plished in 30 years and how we still can grow. To do God's work at church but in our homes too! In the future and in all we do. On Sunday in Greenbank Church the two presidents of U.C.W., Barbara Ward and Hel- en McKean, chaired the service to celebrate the 30th anniver- sary of U.C.W. Margaret Cou- perthwaite led the prayer. Hymn "This Is My Father's World" was followed by Mrs. Charlene Shepherd reading the scripture. Judy Gibson gave the report on Missions. The quartet sang so beautifully - "Lord Hear My Prayer." "A journey through faith" was our theme and six members took us on that journey. Jane Brose as "Sarah" - Tracey Howe as "Hagar," Chris Ward as "Mir- iam," Donna Bayliss as "Mary," Eunice Rahm as "Eunice," Ruby Beare as "Priscilla." Our women of history by Mary Jean Till and dear Holly Stone as the future. A hymn "Women of the Bible" was sung. Helen McKean intro- duced our guest speaker Mrs. Joyce Junkin of Bobcaygeon. She is the treasurer of Lindsay Presbyterial U.C.W. Her mes- sage told us of how the now U.C.W. came to be. Even before 1962 when the present U.C.W. was formed and we learned why the W.M.S. and W.A. were joined to become our U.C.W. She also showed us how we can do anything we want to do as women if we only ask God's help to lead us on this journey of faith and through life. The evening unit gave us a real treat by singing "Master of the Sea." benediction. It was truly a beautitul ser- vice held on a beautiful spring day.
