Grace Hastings, Tom Millar, Catherine Millar, and Kent Farndale will each receive a 1992 Lescarbot award, as cho- sen by the Federal Minister of Communications, Perrin Beat- ty. Mrs. Hastings will be recog- nized for her many years of con- tribution to music. She spent several years as a music teach- er, before going on to organize and direct numerous choirs, musical events and concerts. Mrs. Hastings is presently one of the directors of Port Perry's Town Hall 1873. Tom and Catherine Millar have been active in leading many local choral and theatri- cal events. The Millars are perhaps best known for their participation in the youth theatre group 'Millar Lights'. Kent Farndale will be receiv- ing the municipal Lescarbot award for her volunteer work in the community. Mrs. Farndale has been re- sponsible for all displays at the Scugog Memorial Library since its opening 10 years ago, and is very active in Town Hall events. She will be presented with her award on May 25 in Toron- to, while the other three recip- ients will receive their awards on May 28 at Ross Stevenson's Oshawa Constituency Office.
