A little ap- prehensiveness on our team's part showed in the scorebook as our first five batters walked On Tuesday, May 26 Tech- star Pee Wee/Squirt Boys met with Perfect Heating on the Greenbank turf. At the end of the second in- ning the score was 1-0 for Per- fect heating when Techstar came back with four runs in the third. Perfect picked up three in the fourth. The fifth inning was 'scoreless. Going into the sixth inning the score was 4-4 when Techstar picked up one run and the Heating squad came back with two making the final score 6-5. This was Perfect Heating's first win of the season. Congrat- ulations to both teams who played great baseball. All-stars for the Perfect Heat- ing team were Travis Mac- Sween who played a strong de- fensive game on third, Chad Yakeley who played great in the field, and Sean Fletcher made Squirt girls In Squirt girls action Bru- ton's IDA defeated Durham Pharmacy 17-11. Good defensive ball was the name of the game last Thurs- day for these two squirt teams, most notably by Mary Britt, Di- ana Burnett and Sonya Wise- man of Brutons IDA. For her second game in a row, Amanda LeFort played strong behind the plate with good solid pitch- ing coming from Julie Turnball and some nice speed and control from Tanya Wilson. Tanya also scored three runs for Bruton's, along with two apiece for Sonya Wiseman, Diana Burnett, Mary Justynski and Amanda LeFort. Jennifer Banting, Lisa Le- Fort, Maureen Mahood and Amy Postma each offered two hits, scoring once. Whitney Howsam and Dana Harper played in field provid- ing some good "fielding feet". Kim MacDonald, Sheena and Kolt Beauchamp and Steven Currie all had good hits for Sea- grave - Higgins and Clark. Scoring runs for Hanks Pas- tries were Sara Dubuc, Spencer Churchill, Christopher Milli- gan and Kaine Van Asten. The final score was 16-8. back to the bench shaking their heads. Coach Chris Dunn of the Techstar team would like to mention how proud he is of all his players for showing great improvement since the season started. All-stars for Techstar were Jordon Sanderson who made a nice double play, Todd Larsen who not only hit two-for-two, but made a nice catch in the foul line territory. Jeff Harrison also had a good night at the plate hitting two-for-two. Taylor Ford Mites lose match 12-4 in Stouffville the second inning with an inju- ry. Mark Richardson, Braden Tarbotton and Tim Jones all saw subsequent pitching duties in relief. Good defensive plays showed that despite the score the team's overall direction is as hoped for. Catcher Matt Sker- ratt made a great throw from his knees to get a batter at first base. Tim Jones dove forward to snag a sinking infield liner be- fore it hit the ground. Braden wasn't bothered by the opposing pitcher as he had a perfect two-for-two at the plate. Substitute player Mike Wise- man stung a nice hit to right field (in addition to good back up defensive coverage in right field). Other Taylor-Ford hits were by Sean, David Justynski, Mark and Mike LeFort. Tim, Sean, Mike W., Adam Moynes and Mike L. all record- ed stolen bases to maximize pressure on the opposition pitcher and catcher.
